DSC_1246I’ve struggled with my weight for much of my life and even though I lost many of the excess pounds I did not feel fit.  Now, at age 58, because of personal training at the Fit Zone I am in better shape than I ever thought was possible. 

I’ve been a member of Fit Zone for six years but have only been receiving personal training with Jaime for a little over a year now.  What a difference the individual training has made!   If you had told me a couple years ago that I’d be working with a personal trainer I would have laughed. I tell my friends that I work out so that I can eat enchiladas and drink beer.  Even though my weight has stayed pretty much the same I have lost 11 inches and 10 pounds of body fat since I began the training.  11 inches! 

There’s always an excuse to skip the gym but the commitment of time and money is a strong motivator. Last May my husband and I, along with other family members, did a 3 day 35 mile back packing hike in the Grand Canyon.  The personal training helped me prepare for the hike.

I retired as a letter carrier a couple of years ago.  It was a strenuous job both physically and mentally.  That job left me with many injuries that flare up from time to time and Jamie is very good at working around my issues when they arise. When my shoulder or leg is sore she shows me stretches that help with the pain.  She’s also taught me exercises to prevent problems in the future.

I’ve worked with other members of the Fit Zone staff and found everyone there to be very knowledgeable and helpful.  They offer words of encouragement and praise my efforts.  I can’t believe the change after a little more than one year of training. I’m in the best shape of my life thanks to Fit Zone and personal training!
